The Book of Tuning

  1. When the world slept, the faithful worked.
  2. Their temples were garages, their altars made of steel.
  3. And they were called Tuners – the keepers of creation.
  4. They did not pray with words, but with tools, patience, and persistence.
  5. Their gospel was written in grease and grit.
  6. They looked upon what was given and said, “It is good – but it can be better.”
  7. And thus began the endless quest for improvement.
  8. The wrench became a relic, the dyno their confessional.
  9. They sought truth not in scripture, but in the sound of a perfect idle.
  10. Their offerings were fuel, spark, and time.
  11. Their faith tested with every seized bolt. Every failure that taught another lesson.
  12. The wise among them said, “A machine is not born great – it becomes.”
  13. And the faithful nodded, for they knew this truth in their hands.
  14. They were dreamers, not destroyers.
  15. Builders of better things from what others abandoned.
  16. Their miracles were measured not in money, but in motion and noise.
  17. The dyno runs sang like psalms.
  18. The boost gauge became their rosary.
  19. And the glow of the laptop screen their guiding light.
  20. They worked through midnight. Chasing numbers that became nirvana.
  21. For they believed the divine lives not in perfection, but in the pursuit of it.
  22. When the work was done, they stood back in silence.
  23. The engine breathed, alive again.
  24. And they smiled, for creation was complete.
  25. And so it was written: “Blessed are those who build, for they shape their own salvation.”
  26. And the hum of tuned engines carried through the night like prayer.

The Book Not Yet Written

There are pages still blank, stories not yet spoken, machines awaiting their moment in scripture. If there is a car, a maker, or a myth we have not yet written - speak it. And together, we shall write the next verse of the Gospel.
