The Book of Volkswagen

  1. In the heart of a divided world, a maker arose from the ashes of war.
  2. Its name was Volkswagen, and its purpose was humble – to move the people once more.
  3. Where others built for glory and speed, Volkswagen built for need, for family, for tomorrow.
  4. From steel and simplicity the Beetle was born.
  5. Round of shape and gentle of heart, it carried millions with quiet resolve.
  6. The people looked upon it and smiled, for it asked for little and gave much.
  7. Across broken roads and narrow lanes it wandered,
  8. Bearing children, workers, and dreamers to their destinations.
  9. Its hum was steady, its faith unshaken.
  10. And the people said, “It is small, yet it endures.”
  11. For in that humble chariot they found reliability, not riches.
  12. It became the people’s car – not of status, but of spirit.
  13. When the years grew long and the roads wider,
  14. Volkswagen gave rise to new forms – Golf, Kombi, and Transporter.
  15. Each carried the same heart, though the body changed.
  16. The Kombi became the pilgrim’s van, the traveller’s temple.
  17. It crossed continents and coastlines. Bearing the faithful toward the horizon with laughter and song.
  18. The Golf came swift and sure. A balance of modesty and motion, of craft and courage.
  19. It brought precision to the people, and the people rejoiced.
  20. And thus the name Volkswagen became a promise.
  21. That all who sought the road might find it.
  22. Mechanics praised its simplicity.
  23. Families praised its loyalty.
  24. Wanderers praised its soul.
  25. For greatness lies not only in speed or thunder. But in those who carry on without fail.
  26. And so it was written: “The faithful shall know the strength of the humble.”

There are pages still blank, stories not yet spoken, machines awaiting their moment in scripture. If there is a car, a maker, or a myth we have not yet written - speak it. And together, we shall write the next verse of the Gospel.
