The Book of Ford

  1. In the days after creation, when man first sought to master motion,
  2. There rose a maker named Henry, whose hands shaped the age of travel.
  3. He looked upon the chaos of craft, and said, “Let there be order, that all may move.”
  4. And behold – the line was born, and it moved without ceasing.
  5. From it came forth the Model T, humble yet mighty.
  6. The people rejoiced, for motion was no longer the privilege of kings.
  7. Across nations the roads awoke, dust rising like incense.
  8. The world grew smaller, and the horizon nearer.
  9. Villages became towns, and towns became cities.
  10. The horse bowed its head, for its burden was lifted.
  11. And Henry spoke unto the people, saying, “Ye may have any colour ye desire, so long as it be black.”
  12. And they obeyed, for they cared not for colour, only for freedom.
  13. The chariot of Ford journeyed across oceans and continents.
  14. It braved deserts and tundras, mountains and plains.
  15. In every land it was known by its strength and its sound.
  16. From America to Africa, from Europe to the islands of the South,
  17. The blue oval became a banner of endurance and toil.
  18. Men and women laboured beneath it, building the world anew.
  19. And when the age of speed dawned, Ford did not falter.
  20. It raced upon tracks and conquered the night. From Le Mans to Daytona, from rally to road.
  21. The faithful gathered in garages and fields. Polishing their machines like relics of devotion.
  22. And the name of Ford was spoken in pride and reverence.
  23. Generations passed, and the machines evolved.
  24. And the people remembered the promise of Henry. That motion should belong to all.
  25. And so it was written: “As long as wheels turn, the work of Ford shall endure.”

There are pages still blank, stories not yet spoken, machines awaiting their moment in scripture. If there is a car, a maker, or a myth we have not yet written - speak it. And together, we shall write the next verse of the Gospel.
